Bollywood actor and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta recently shared an emotional video on social media after experiencing tense moments in Dubai amid the escalating conflict in West Asia. The actor, who is currently in the city with her daughter, opened up about hearing loud explosions and seeing missiles intercepted in the sky during the ongoing regional crisis.
Lara Dutta Gets Emotional After Explosions Heard in Dubai
The video comes in the wake of a series of dramatic escalations in the Middle East. On February 28, 2026, retaliatory strikes from Iran targeted several Gulf landmarks, including a luxury hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah and the Jebel Ali Port.
In the video posted on Instagram, the actor appeared visibly emotional as she spoke about the fear and uncertainty felt by residents during the recent escalation of tensions linked to the confrontation involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
‘It Has Been Stressful and Scary’
Recalling the moment she first realized the seriousness of the situation, Lara said she was shooting in a studio when explosions were heard overhead. According to the actor, the crew rushed outside and witnessed missile interceptions in the sky.
She explained that the past few days have been particularly stressful, with fighter jets flying overhead and loud booms shaking windows and doors in her home. Despite the tension, she said she had not felt unsafe but admitted that the environment was “unnerving.”
The actor added that hearing the explosions while being away from home with her daughter made the experience more emotional and difficult.

While addressing her followers online, Lara shared a heartfelt message about the human cost of conflict and the anxiety civilians experience during such crises. She emphasised that no one deserves to live in fear and urged people to pray for peace and stability in the region.

In her post, she also expressed gratitude to authorities in the UAE for ensuring safety and maintaining calm in the city during the tense situation. She said residents have been reassured by the government’s efforts to protect people regardless of nationality.

Tensions across West Asia have intensified following military actions and retaliatory strikes between regional powers, raising concerns about wider instability in the region. The developments have affected civilians, travellers and expatriates across several Gulf cities, including Dubai.
Despite the uncertainty, Dubai has continued functioning normally with heightened security measures, according to residents and officials.

Following the video’s release, an outpouring of support came from the film industry. Actor Richa Chadha commented, “I’m glad you’re safe, Lara, and credit where credit is due to the UAE govt,” while Sudhanshu Pandey reassured her, “Lara, my dearest, you hang in there, all will be well” .
