NEET PG 2026 Answer Key Soon: How to Check the Marking Scheme and Raise Objections

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, NBEMS, is to publish the NEET PG 2026 answer key soon on its official portal, natboard.edu.in. The NEET PG 2026 examination was held on Sunday, 30 August 2026 in a single shift from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Around 2.65 lakh candidates are competing this examination for MD, MS, and PG-Diploma seats across the nation. This is first time, The NBEMS will release the official answer key along with individual response sheets in compliance with a Supreme Court order from April 2025.

As of 31 August 2026, Candidates should note that NBEMS has not officially announced a fixed date for the release of the NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key.

NEET PG 2026 Answer Key Overview

The NEET PG 2026 exam was held in CBT mode with 180 multiple-choice questions. Candidates were given 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the paper. The exam was conducted in a single shift at the various examination centres across the nation

According to the NBEMS marking scheme, candidates will get 4 marks for correct answers, while 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answer.

NEET PG 2026 Marking Scheme and Score Calculation

There is a total of 180 multiple choice questions with a total of 720 marks. The marking scheme for NEET PG 2026 is quite simple.

• +4 marks for each correct answer
• -1 mark for each wrong answer
• 0 marks for any un-attempted question

Candidates can use the following formula to calculate their estimated score.

Estimated Score = (Correct Answers × 4) – (Incorrect Answers × 1)

For example, if a candidate answers 150 questions correctly and 30 incorrectly, the estimated score would be.

(150 × 4) – (30 × 1) = 570 marks

Candidates should remember that the final score will be calculated by NBEMS according to the officially applicable answer key and examination rules.

How to Download NEET PG 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet

Once the answer key is released on the official website, the candidates follow the simple steps to download your answer key.

1. Visit visit the NBEMS website at nbe.edu.in.
2. Look for the “NEET PG 2026 Answer Key” or ‘Latest News’ link on the homepage.
3. They have to click on the link and get redirected to the answer key page where they need to enter their Application Number and Password to log in.
4. After logging in, the provisional answer key will appear on the screen.
5. The candidates can then download the pdf file and save it for future reference.

How to Submit Objections Against the NEET PG 2026 Answer Key

If candidates find any discrepancy in the provisional answer key, NBEMS provides a candidate challenge window. Candidates will have to submit challenges online within the specified deadline.

1. Log in to the candidate portal during the challenge window.
2. Select the question(s) you wish to challenge and indicate your proposed correct option.
3. Upload supporting evidence (standard textbooks, NCERT, peer-reviewed sources).
4. Pay the challenge fee.
5. Submit and download the acknowledgment receipt.
6. NBEMS will review only objections that have valid documentary proof are considered.
