According to the official notification, candidates can apply online from 2 September to 22 September 22, with the application window closing at 11 PM on the last date. The last date for online fee payment is September 23, while the application correction window will remain open from September 28 to September 30, 2026. Paper-I is tentatively scheduled for October/November and Paper-II for December 2026.

SSC JE 2026 Notification Overview

The recruitment is being conducted for Junior Engineer posts in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical & Mechanical and Telecom disciplines, along with Scientific Assistant posts in the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The posts are classified as Group ‘B’ and carry Pay Level-6, with a pay scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 under the 7th Central Pay Commission.

SSC JE 2026 Application Fee

SSC JE 2026: Selection Process and Exam Pattern

1. Paper I: 200 marks covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering. Duration: 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
2. Paper II: 300 marks focusing on the chosen engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical). Duration: 2 hours. Negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer.
